Directrice of the house before it closed in 1950, and sister of Edward Molyneux, Kathleen Hope Lumley managed the Mayfair salon for over two decades while producing ready-to-wear for private clients.

Tips
- Cotton & Linen: Breathable and soft; fold with tissue or roll lightly to prevent creases. Linen relaxes beautifully with wear.
- Silk (Satin, Charmeuse, Organza): Luxurious drape for dresses and blouses; pack loosely with tissue or on a hanger. A travel steamer refreshes silk on arrival.
- Chiffon, Georgette, Tulle, Lace: Delicate fabrics; layer with tissue and steam lightly if needed.
- Velvet: Avoid heavy folding; lay flat or carry in a soft bag to protect the pile.
- Wool, Tweed, Flannel, Gabardine: Structured fabrics for skirts, jackets and coats; fold lightly or hang. Tweed settles nicely after a brief exposure to mist.
- Cashmere & Wool Blends: Soft knitwear; fold with tissue and avoid compression. Light steaming restores fibres.
- Denim: Durable and versatile; roll or fold carefully to avoid creasing.
- Leather & Suede: Do not fold; use breathable garment bags and protect from moisture.
- Ponchos, Shawls & Coats: Pack with tissue or hang; light steaming restores drape.
Travel Advice:
Use the tissue we provide to protect garments. Structured pieces travel best on a hanger, delicate fabrics benefit from layering with tissue, and a compact travel steamer is useful for silk, chiffon, or fine eveningwear.
